So we are a few weeks into the new series which airs each Tuesday night. The first week was strong and the second with action packed but with an added dose of Nick Fury. There is Agent Coulson’s ongoing mystery as to his recuperation from being, well, dead and that is highlighted by some of his field skills being “rusty”. Still a pretty good show.
As of this third episode, however, the only thing tying the program to the Marvel universe is Clark Gregg. If he were not a part of this show then I wouldn’t know that it occupies the same universe as the Avengers and that is a bad thing. I am a die-hard Marvel and DC comics fan (yes Arrow is back tonight on the CW!) so I will support this show with every fiber of my being since it is pretty good. That being said, as an hour long action/drama program it would be on my “I’d watch it if there wasn’t something better on” list if it wasn’t Marvel. Bring in more Super Beings! Showcase some of the B-List heroes. Marvel doesn’t apologize for super powers it their movies so let’s not tip-toe around them on the small screen. This would be a perfect place to introduce Heroes For Hire and test the waters for spin-offs or whatever. Bring the heat, Marvel!
