So, yesterday, DC launched dcsuperherogirls.com. It is pretty simple but that is where the beauty lies. I dig the flat design and it is a pretty good start for getting the brand out there. DC Super Hero Girls will see DC Entertainment, and Warner Bros. collaborate with Mattel, LEGO and Random House. From what I can tell there won’t be any product, other than maybe from Random House, until 2016.

I am a huge supporter of positive, powerful, female role-models for both girls and boys. That being said, I have high hopes for DC’s Super Hero Girls to not be another high-school-ish drama laden brand about teen angst, or characters having “attitude” without any positive direction. I will be keeping an eye out on this brand. We should be seeing some digital content soon and perhaps some TV presence this Fall. In the mean time I wonder if they’ll (DC Comics) be launching a companion comic book series in conjunction with the animated content or before… either way, it’s something to look forward to.
