Warp drive would allow us to travel 10 times faster than the speed of light without actually breaking the speed of light – however, most scientists think that the technology will never actually work. Despite this, NASA has released designs for a faster-than-light ship that uses the hypothetical tech.

I so wish this would become a reality within my lifetime. Alas, we are to bogged down in childish superstitions and petty differences. We have so many hurdles until we reach for the stars in person. Let’s hope that we can get over ourselves and take another giant step for humanity.

John Boyega… A Fan’s Best Friend

If you want to start your day off right, give this video a watch. Some great fans getting a really fun surprise. Promoting “A Force For Change”, John photobombs unsuspecting cosplaying fans. I rolled a tear or two.

Also, that chap in the black Stormtrooper armor was awesome looking 👍

Geek Zen: Acceptance

Zen IDIC   Think about a thing that you hate the most. Find ONE thing, no matter how trivial, that you like about it. It could be the background music, a color pallet, panel layout, choreography, etc. Enjoy that one thing for what it is. You may be surprised at how many more pleasant things come to your attention.

There was a time when I would complain about every little thing that a movie or TV show got wrong. I would discuss this for hours with others of like minded, unhappy, fanatics. Railing against Lucas, or something as equally inconsequential. Then one day I began to see things from a “certain point of view”, and I looked for little gems in what I had deemed to be a pile of Bantha Poodoo.

Are there still things that I don’t like? Sure, but I endeavor to look beyond them. I may even skip a few panels, chapters, tracks, or minutes of a film. I choose to enjoy things for what they are. It’s nice to be able to enjoy most of the special editions, and the prequels, among other things now.

Try it. It’s better to have a great time than it is to troll about it. Heck, the only thing I will be brutally critical about is my own work.
