This has to be the absolute ultimate version of Logan! I’ve seen it touted as a “Classic” version of Wolverine, but the outfit isn’t the original togs that he donned back in his first appearances in The Incredible Hulk or even in Giant-Sized X-Men. It’s still a sweet looking figure. We’ve all been fooled by looks before, but I’ve heard some great things about Revoltech.
I love the retro style figures that the Vintage Studio creates. Done in the Kenner style, these figures are not as much of a What-If, and more of a continuation of the original line. The Rebel Trooper was a glaring omission to the vintage line, and now you can own one (or four) to add to your collection. The price is a bit steep at $30, but considering the amount of work they put into the figures it’s a steal, plus the quality is apparent. Check out their website, it is a visual treat.
This last week I finally picked up my very first Kenner X-Wing. This isn’t the 1978 version, it’s the one from 1979. It has the, what seems like the much maligned, “Battle Damage” stickers applied, and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The cannons are a bit bent, and the cockpit will open but will fall off if you push it back too far. I had the Millennium Falcon, a TIE Interceptor, a Twin-Pod Cloud Car, the AT-AT (@@), and an AT-ST when I was a kid. I never owned an X-Wing. Later on I picked up a Micro Collection one, along with some Micro Machine versions. I sold them all, along with a great 2003 Dagobah version that I picked up just for resale (oh the regrets, but it was how I made a living for a while).
Wordpress, my blog host, won’t allow certain plugins so hence the screenshot of the gallery link. I may be making some moves in the next few weeks. Earlier this month, I secured my domain name via Google Domains.
The figures by Bif Bang Pow are so retro cool that they blow my 1977 early bird mind. This guy, Flash Gordon’s Vultan, is going to be my first. I am a sucker for characters with wings. There is a place for him between my Kenner “Super Powers” Hawkman and Mattel “Clash of the TItans” Pegasus ^_^
These Mondo figures look like they’ll be very accurate to the comics versions that were featured in the 1984 – 1985 Mirage run of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The 11″ tall, 1/6 scale Turtles will make their debut at SDCC2015. I think I’ll keep an eye out for at least one, I have a 2003 12″ Raphael that could be replace by one of these 😉
From USA Today: Ninja Turtles figures (price TBD).
“After Mondo dipped its toes in the toy business beginning last Comic-Con, this summer brings the first in a new series of toys based on the original TMNT comics of the 1980s. First up is Leonardo, who stands 11 inches tall and comes with a bunch of accessories including weapons, a blue mask to match the cartoons and a red mask from the comics. Also on display will be the upcoming figures of Donatello, Michelangelo and Raphael.”
So here I am 45, as of the 3rd of May 2015, and I am just on the cusp of becoming gainfully employed again. It’s been a while since I had a regular job, but the contract stuff and selling online is just getting us by. Once I re-enter the 9-5 world, after 20 years, I plan on replacing/upgrading many things (car, appliances, computers) and rebuilding the collecting that had dwindled over the years. Presented here is what we have left, that isn’t up for sale. Some is my wife’s, others are mine, and some we’ve collected together. The best thing about collecting again is that, if needed, I can always flip my stuff for more than I paid and start over again.
If you want to see what I would like to add to my collection, so far, then check out my collection list on eBay: My 45 Year Wish List! Misty’s will be building her list soon.
